Born and raised in Christchurch, New Zealand, Mikaela developed a taste for blues-tinged country at a very young age, and has cultivated her guitar and vocal talents throughout her world-wide travels.
Picking up the guitar at the young age of seven and playing gigs shortly afterwards, she has toured across the vast outback of Australia and played throughout Europe, the UK and the US.
Recently, Mikaela brought her talents back to the United States, recording her album and playing shows in Nashville, Tennessee. Mikaela is currently based out of Austin, Texas.
Produced by Don Kerce, Hard as Nails displays Mikaela’s talent beautifully, combining her sultry vocals with bare-bones arrangements and her stylized fusion of blues, jazz, and old-school country music.
